Piano moving in Westchester

Piano movers in Westchester County, NY.

Just Better Moving brings the same specialty piano crew that handles Steinway and Carnegie Hall instruments to homes across Westchester County. Uprights, baby grands, and full grands are moved by a crew trained on the rigging, not general movers learning on your instrument.

A specialty piano crew for Westchester.

Westchester County is one of our regular runs, and White Plains in particular is a steady source of piano work. Faust Harrison Pianos has a showroom in White Plains, which means a share of our piano moves originates or ends within a few miles of the White Plains train station. We also know the building protocols at many of the larger Westchester high-rises.

A piano is not furniture. It is heavy, awkward, delicate, and often irreplaceable, and moving one well takes training and the right equipment.

Our piano credentials.

Just Better Moving is a Steinway authorized handler and a Yamaha specialty mover. We handle Carnegie Hall instrument transport, and we move pianos for Lincoln Center, Jazz at Lincoln Center, and 92NY. We complete more than 200 piano moves per month.

Our retail partners include Faust Harrison Pianos, with locations in Paramus, White Plains, Manhattan, Fairfield, and Melville, along with Worldwide Piano, Forte Piano, Signature Pianos, Allegro Pianos, Klavierhaus, B Natural Pianos, and Hampton Piano Services.

How we move a piano.

Every piano move uses:

  • Specialty piano dollies and skid boards
  • Padding and boarding, with straps for stability
  • A trained crew on every job, with no general movers handling your instrument
  • Stair carries, hoists, and tight-turn navigation where your home needs them

For long-distance piano moves, we use climate-aware blanket wrapping.

Stairs, walk-ups, and tight turns.

Westchester homes and buildings come in every layout. We do stair carries on uprights and grands routinely. For tight turns or high-floor walk-ups, we send extra crew or schedule a hoist if needed, and we walk through the plan with you on a call before quote time so there are no surprises on moving day.

Buildings that require insurance paperwork.

Many co-ops, condos, and apartment buildings require a Certificate of Insurance before move day. We can provide a COI upon request for buildings that require proof of coverage, and our office works directly with your building management. Submit your request as early as possible, since building requirements vary and some buildings need advance approval time.

Read our guide to Certificates of Insurance for high-rise moves.

How piano moves are priced.

Piano moves are quoted as flat rates, so you know the number before we start. Piano moves start around $390 plus stair, distance, and rigging surcharges. Piano moves get a quick scoping call so the price is final, not an estimate. Piano specialty moves may require a small deposit to lock in a date, and we explain what applies during the quote call.
