Piano moves

The move that earned us Carnegie Hall.

Uprights, baby grands, full grands. Specialty rigging, certified crew, the kind of careful you don't have to ask for.

Piano Moving, Just Better Moving

How we do it

The kind of careful you don't have to ask for.

A piano isn't furniture. It's heavy, awkward, delicate, and often irreplaceable. We move uprights, baby grands, and full grands the way the manufacturers and concert venues we work for expect: padded and boarded, strapped for stability, and carried by a crew trained on the rigging rather than general movers learning on your instrument. Stairs, hoists, and tight turns included. The piano arrives in tune and your floors arrive unscratched.

  • Specialty piano dollies and skid boards
  • Trained crew on every job, no general movers handling your instrument
  • Stair carries, hoists, and tight-turn navigation
  • Climate-aware blanket wrapping for long-distance moves

The roster

The names that trust us with their pianos.

We don't move pianos as a side service. We move pianos for the manufacturers who build them, the venues that perform on them, and the showrooms that sell them.

Common questions

Piano moves, demystified.

What kinds of pianos do you move?
Uprights, baby grands, full grands, and digital pianos. We've moved Steinways, Yamahas, and concert instruments for venues including Carnegie Hall. Every piano gets straps, padding, dollies sized for the instrument, and a crew trained on the rigging.
Can you move a piano up or down stairs?
Yes. We do stair carries on uprights and grands routinely. For tight turns or high-floor walk-ups we'll send extra crew or schedule a hoist if needed. We'll walk through it on the call before quote-time so there are no surprises.
How is pricing calculated?
Most local moves are priced by crew size and time, with a flat travel charge. Long-distance, commercial, and piano moves are quoted as flat rates so you know the number before we start. Either way, we give you an estimate before you commit. No day-of surprises.
Do you require a deposit?
For most local moves, no deposit is required. You pay at the end of the move. Piano specialty moves and commercial jobs may require a small deposit to lock in a date; we'll explain what applies during the quote call.
How far in advance should I book?
Two to four weeks is comfortable for most moves. Peak summer weekends and end-of-month dates fill up faster. Earlier is better. For last-minute moves give us a call: we keep some bandwidth available for short-notice work.
